PHYSICS LITERACY FOR KIDS

What is Physics Literacy?

Physics Literacy for Kids is a global community of curious, highly capable young learners ages 8-15 who master the foundations of physics through deep conceptual understanding. Instead of just "plugging and chugging" numbers into equations, our students lead discussions and conduct experiments, give scientific talks, and attend talks by leading scientists worldwide. By prioritizing critical thinking over rote memorization, we make complex equations feel like second nature in life.

Who is this for?

This is for young learners ages 8–15 who are intensely curious about how our universe works. If your child is the one who keeps asking "why" until you’ve run out of answers, they’ve found their tribe. We cater to high-capability students who crave deep conceptual logic over simple memorization.

Why start so early?

Of all the sciences, physics is one of the most intuitive. Yet, we wait a long time, often until junior year in high school, to teach it. Once in high school, many students who would have been fine learning physics concepts at ages 8, 9, or 10 struggle to comprehend the more mathematical form of the subject. I aim to bridge this gap by using an intuitive approach to physics. The hope is to instill a love for the subject in young children and empower them to be critical thinkers.

We enrolled our 9-year-old twins in Dr. Azadeh Samadani’s Survey of Physics Course and have been genuinely impressed. She has a rare gift for making advanced physics both accessible and intellectually honest—clear and engaging, yet never “watered down.” Each class balances rigor with encouragement: Dr. Samadani checks for understanding in real time, invites thoughtful questions, and helps students build strong intuition before moving on.
